Xvid Decoder is a video converter available at no cost. It is able to convert Xvid videos to WMV, AVI, MPEG4, DivX and PSP formats. All the video codecs are contained in the program, allowing the output video even to be adjusted in quality and aspect. The application has a simple interface, which makes its use easy even for non-expert PC users.
Xvid Decoder converts video at high speeds and does not reduce video quality. A user can customize the output settings, but it’s not really necessary because with the integrated codecs and default settings the resulting output video quality is as good as the source file, and no skipping of frames during conversion is applied. Xvid Decoder is freeware, and is able to directly convert files to Sony PSP-compatible format (automatically adjusting width and height). Once converted, just copy the output file to the PSP Video folder, then play and enjoy the full-length movie or video clips.
Xvid Decoder can support large videos, up to 2GB (make sure there is enough disk space available to save the output video to avoid errors). Besides, it is compatible with Windows XP/2000/2003/Vista (64bit versions included). The most recent version of Xvid Decoder is 1.1, but the review and screenshots apply to version 1.0
